A large sea creature, part serpent and part fantastical animal, curls through the water, small fish swimming below, seaweed and grasses rising along the right edge — a small linoleum cut of a portion of a composition that began as a watercolor at Cooper Union in the late 1940s and later became a wood-carved mural for Palm Coast.

The same carved block printed two ways — a palm tree rendered once in fiery red, orange, and yellow, its fronds and shadow curving dynamically across the panel, and again in stark black and white, the same silhouette simplified to pure high contrast.

A palm tree bends dramatically against a sun and layered clouds, its fronds rendered in dense, radiating lines — another version of the "Palms" composition, the etching's acid-bitten zinc plate producing a different texture from the linoleum cuts.
